LEARN THE STORY OF OUR SOIL

Tarso, Antioquia

Colombia
Tarso
drying coffee

At Story Seed, we take pride in sourcing our coffee from the breathtaking region of Tarso, nestled within Antioquia. Tarso, known for its lush green mountains and picturesque landscapes, offers the perfect environment for coffee cultivation. The town is situated approximately 95 kilometers southwest of Medellin, boasting an average temperature of 13 degrees Celsius.

In this largest municipality in the entire east of Antioquia, a harmonious blend of thermal floors, diverse climates, and pristine wilderness shapes the landscape. The area's abundant small Andean rivers contribute to the irrigation of the land, while the tropical climate provides favorable conditions for traditional agriculture.

Our coffee is cultivated at elevations ranging from 1400 to 1900 meters above sea level, where small holders with farms averaging 3-12 hectares each dedicate themselves to the craft. They hand-pick only the ripest coffee cherries, employing traditional methods to preserve the quality and distinct flavors. The cherries are carefully wet milled and dried at each small farm, ensuring meticulous attention to detail throughout the process.

When you indulge in our Tarso coffee, you'll experience a delightful combination of sweetness, hints of chocolate, berries, panela, and notes of caramel. The medium-high acidity and smooth body make for a truly captivating and flavorful cup. Each sip tells the story of our dedicated farmers and the unique flavor of Antioquia, Colombia.

"Trabajar en los campos de café no es fácil. Requiere paciencia, precisión y dedicación. Pero al final del día, estoy orgulloso de ser un agricultor de café y contribuir a la industria."       - Cesar G.
